Warner Bros
Warner Bros was created in 1927 by brothers Sam, Jack, Albert and Harry Warner which is where the institution gets its name from. Warner Brtos studiois based in California and New York, over the years they have produced films in many different genres, examples of thrilers that they have produced are 'Inception' and 'The DarkKnight Rises'. Their logo wouldnt suggest that they would create thriller movies however,it showes that they do varied work. Their first ever feature film was called The Jazz Singer, 1927. Since then they have produced nearly 6,500 feature films. I found some more information about some film institutions on slide share where Monica Gameiro posted her resea- http://www.slideshare.net/MonicaGameiro/researching-film-institutions
Walt Disney
Walt Disney was founded on October 16, 1923, and were known as The Disney Brothers Studio. Brothers Walt and Roy O. Disney co-founded Walt Disney and were prominent figures in the American annimation industry. They earn from around 45-50 billion dollars annually as well as owning other institutions such as Marvel Studios. Unlike Warner Bros Disney films are usually fairytale based and aimed at the younger age group. The logo is of a castle which can be related to fairytales. There are also different shade of pink and blue in the sky which makes it look magical. Examples of childrens films taht have recently come out are Frozen and Inside Out.

Paramount
Paramount is another example of a very well known ident. Paramount is known to be in the 'Big Six' film studios of Hollywood and have produced many sucessfull films such as the Mission Impossible films and Transformers (2007). Paramount is the fifth oldest surviving film studio in the world which was founded in 1912 by Adolph Zukor. Paramounts ident is similar to other well known idents in this industry, a common convention seems to be that they are in the clouds or from a high height. Paramount also are associated with MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies as well as building London Paramount Entertainment Resort. Paramount have invested in Dream Works and The CBS Library which have enables them to have a higher market share.

Dream Works
As mentioned Dream Works is owned by Paramount pictures. Before it was owned by Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffery Katzenberg and its rivalry was Disney as they followed similar fairytale themes within some of their films. Some examples of films they have produced are Madagascar (2005), The Ring (2002) and Shrek which they recieved an Academy award for in 2001. In 1997 was when they released their first three films, The Peacemaker, Amistad and MouseHunt. The ident is a boy sitting on a cresent moon fishing, this idea was generated by Stevn Spieilberg who wanted a computer generated logo. The music which accompanies the logo was composed by John Williams.

20th Century Fox
20th Century Fox also known as 20th Century Fox Pictures or just FOX was created in 1904 by William Fox in New York. He first ever films were sold for five cent and by 1915 he had 25 thearters in New York. Examples of filsm that have been produced are Avatar (2009), What Lies Beneath (2000) and Ice Age (2002) which made $383 million and is due to have its fifth Ice Age film released in 2016. FOX cover a wide range of audiences and is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America. Their ident is very powerful by the use of low angles and eye level shots of the massive sign which has the company name in a gold bold colour with lights which are assosiated with a cinema or premier of something surrounding the sign. The dark colour in the background contrast with the sign and makes it look important. Its similar to Warner Bros. with the colour scheme hwoever, it is still unique and a recognised ident.

Lionsgate
Lionsgate utilises the large font which ayers over the background of clouds. This ident is very strong and contrasting although compared to other idents which afre in the clouds or at a high heigth i think it dosen't catch as much attention as the other idents. Lionsgate is a Canadian-American entertainment company which was established on July 3, 1997. It was created by Frank Giustra and Avi Federgreen with a $16 million investment including another $40 million and has made its own record label and music publishing company, Lionsgate Music and Publishing. Lionsgate Music started a joint venture with Sony Music Australia, as well as producing films such as; The Descent, Good Luck Chuck and the Saw movies.
